Personally, I love local ice cream parlors and shops (no offense to chains like Cold Stone, just not my thing). I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, home of one of the most amazing ice cream shops I've ever experienced: Honey Hut. If you ever get the chance, try it. AMAZING ice cream! What would I recommend? Well, you really cannot go wrong, but their Banana ice cream is unbelievable.

Recently, however, I made a discovery (apparently I'm a little behind in the ice cream chain expansion business). Dippin Dots (you know, the freeze dried mini ice cream balls that you get from carts at amusement parks and out of vending machines) is now a chain of ice cream stores across the states! Not only that, but they have a HUGE variety of flavors. I'm used to 4, maybe 6 varieties available. The store that I went to has over 20 flavors to choose from. They even have Dippin Dot yogurt, fat free flavors, sugar free flavors, and sorbet flavors. I tried the low fat vanilla flavor and really enjoyed it.

They also make other items like Dippin Dots ice cream cakes, though to be honest, they look a little strange. I'm sure they're delicious, but they remind me a little of fruit cake...
Overall, I was very excited and pleased with my discovery. Are you a Dippin Dots fan as well? If so, see if there is a location near you. You won't be disappointed.
