Pumpkin-licious!

I probably didn’t even need to show you the label on the cup cozy for you to know where I got my coffee this morning. Starbucks is one of the largest coffee franchises in the world. Originating in Seattle Washington in the 1970’s (wow that seems like forever ago now, huh?), Starbucks now boasts a whopping 15,000+ locations across 30+ countries! It became widely popular when it began to promote lattes and mochas, popular consumables from Milan’s espresso bars.

Did you know that the name “Starbucks” comes from the classic novel Moby Dick? The connection comes from Starbucks’ identity with importing coffee from around the world (across the Sea…get it?). Learn more here

I grew up going to the beach in New London, CT every summer. There, my family was friends with a couple with the last name Levine. I remember Mr. Levine (my grandfather’s age) being overwhelmed and disgruntled by the fact that people were willing to pay so much for a cup of coffee! Believe it or not, he passed on buying stock in Starbucks before it became huge – should have, would have, could have, right? I have yet to admit to him that I, like so many other American consumers, am a loyal customer of the coffee chain (if you enjoy reading my blog, you won’t tell him either!).

Though I love enjoying many of their drink options and am thoroughly ecstatic that they offer so many “lighter” versions, I think my favorite season is the fall. “Why” might you ask? One word: Pumpkin flavoring! Fall is, by far, my favorite season of the year. Living in the north east, I get to enjoy the beauty of the leaves changing, the crisp but not too cold fall weather, and my favorite holiday of the season: Halloween!

Of all of the pumpkin options, my two favorites (and the drinks I order the most frequently) are:
Tall Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte: Hot, milk infused pumpkin flavored goodness! Hold the whip, of course!

Tall Skinny Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino: Cold, pumpkin flavored tasty treat! *Note, this one is far fewer calories than its hot friend above*

**I sprinkle a little nutmeg on both to add a little more Fall zest! What should you to today when you’re craving a mid-day snack or need an extra energy boost? Go grab one of these Pumpkin Spice concoctions.

I love the pumpkin latte.

I also love the egg nog and peppermint mocha lattes that come a little later in the season.

It's one of the winters' few redeeming qualities.

Agreed on both points :)

I pretty much love all things pumpkin. In fact, just this evening, we were out to dinner for my mom's birthday and when it came time to choose dessert, I passed.. as there was no hint of pumpkin on the menu. Aside from the pumpkin latte, the only other morning treat I enjoy from Starbucks, is the Caramel Macchiato.. Mmm.
